Judging Criteria
Singapore Jewellery Association believes in a healthy & fair competition to develop & nurture budding talents. The comprehensiveness and level playing field offered to participants can be ascribed to the fact that entries are judged primarily on originality, creativity & market appeal.
Originality – Every design will be evaluated on the basis of its originality. Designs should not have been previously displayed or commercialised. Each judge will personally & individually scrutinise the designs to ensure their authenticity. Originality in technique and originality in concept and execution form an important judging factor.
Creativity - We love creativity. We know the difference that it makes. We encourage it!
It is difficult to bring out ones creativity when restricted by a client’s requirement. SJDA however, gives you this golden chance to break out & get the best inside you flowing on paper. Creativity in design & concept forms crucial judging criteria.
Market appeal – Your design will be judged on the basis of its practicality & market appeal. The Judges will evaluate the responsiveness of each design to the characteristics of target customers and requirements of the market. Its production-practicality, marketability & end user appeal forms the basis of judging. Market appeal is the ultimate challenge for any designer & so it forms a key judging criteria.
